Halfords Kid's bike character animations
Halfords launched a range of new kid's bikes, each associated with a specific character from their Pedalford setting. Each of these characters was designed to appeal to a specfic age range and elements of their persona was carried through to each of the bikes (such as a Nerf gun for the Starfighter bike etc.). Each bike had a series of flat decals created by the Halfords in house design team to be applied to chain guards, frame and accessories, as well as activity sheets and a landing page on their website. As part of the launch activity Halfords required that each of these characters be bought to life in an animation, highlighting their personalities and individual settings. All I had to go on were a series of flat Adobe Illustrator files, which I broke apart and expanded, then bought into Adobe After Effects, along with other scratch-built assets and suitable audio tracks to build each of the stories. These were then used by Halfords on their Pedalford landing page to market the bikes, as well as alongside the product 360 degree animations on the main site.
